Pixie was picked up by animal control on the streets of Hayward. While at the shelter, she gave a lot of “mixed messages” to the staff. “I want to play” “I am a happy little girl” “Touch me and lose a finger” etc. So the shelter reached out to us to rescue her.

She has bonded with the foster dad, and allows him to handle her. Everyone else in the home, however, needs to use caution when interacting with her. It is very common for these small dogs to be a ONE PERSON ONLY dog and Pixie fits that description. Although a lot of the time she is pretty stoic, the foster home is starting to see some of her playful side with the other dogs. Pixie does fine with other small dogs.

Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13.
