Chance came to us from a shelter in a city were so many dogs (many of them puppies) are running loose and getting hit by cars. Chance had a fractured leg and a fractured hip. Our first inclination was to amputate the leg, but the hip fracture was on the other side and wouldn’t have been able to support his weight. So we had no choice but to repair the leg and do an FHO on the hip. After weeks of cage rest, he has completely healed. However, as with all fractures, arthritis will eventually settle in as he gets older.
Chance is a very sweet, submissive dog. He gets along well with other dogs, but his puppy energy may be too much for small, senior dogs. Ideally, he needs an active home were he can enjoy the company of other playful, friendly dogs his size.
Potential adopters must own their home with a good size fenced-in backyard.
Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13.
